Begin your yoga practice by sitting in a comfortable cross-leggged
position with the hands in prayer pose at the center of the chest. Breath
deeply and chant the Adi Mantra "Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo" three
times. You are know ready to begin your yoga session. |

Sit on the heels and stretch the arms over the head so that
the elbows hug the ears. Interlock all the fingers except the index fingers,
which point straight up. Begin to chant "Sat Nam" in a constant
rhythm about eight times per ten seconds. As you chant the sound "Sat"
[which rhymes with "but"] pull the navel point all the way towards
the spine. On the "Nam" relax the belly. Continue at least three
minutes, then inhale and squeeze all the muscles tightly pulling the energy
up the spine. Relax completely on your back at least three minutes. |

The benefits of this kriya are numerous. It improves general
physical health since all the internal organs receive a gentle rhythmic
massage. It is excellent for digestion and the circulatory system. Do
not practice this kriya if you have high blood pressure or severe heart
disease without the approval of a physican. |
